Junior High School
Welcome to the 2007-2008 school year! This year will be an exciting one. Our focus of “process over product” helps our students understand and master the steps to a final project, essay, or assignment. In addition to our academic classes, our students are involved in community service projects and helping others. Throughout the year, students participate in community service activities such as participating in the March for the Homeless in October, working at “So Others Might Eat” (S.O.M.E.) once a month, and cleaning up our neighborhood parks and trails in the spring. We are extremely proud of our students’ efforts and their concern for others.
We also have a variety of clubs and social events to connect our students to school. Students can participate in one of our Friday Lunch Clubs: Beading, Cooking, Chess, Dodgeball, Digital Photography, Yoga/Meditation, Dance, Board Games, Music, and Arts & Crafts. Our 8th graders will complete the Ropes Course at Calleva, which emphasizes problem-solving and teamwork. Our 7th graders will participate in the Restaurant days through the Humanities class.
I would like to thank the parents for being such a support to everyone in the Junior High. PALS members donate their time and energy to enrich our students and staff. Their efforts contribute to the overall school success. If you have not joined PALS, I encourage you to do so. Your small investment of time and effort makes a huge impact on our students.
Once again, I welcome you to the Junior High School. We hope you enjoy our web pages and find them helpful.
