Support the Lab School

Thank you for your interest in supporting The Lab School of Washington.

Lab, like all independent schools, depends on the generosity of our community to support our every day activities as well as secure our long term future. There are many ways that parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of alumni and friends can take an active role in fostering Lab’s mission and ensuring that Lab will continue to be one of the nation’s top schools for bright students with learning disabilities.

Lab offers many opportunities for supporting our school and its activities. We also encourage you to consider volunteering in whatever capacity fits your talents and availability. The Development Office works closely with the Parents Association of Lab School (PALS) in all aspects of supporting Lab. The Development Office – on the side of the parking lot, always welcomes your visit!

The Annual Fund – provides the essential unrestricted dollars for the operating budget that make up the difference between tuition and fees and what it actually costs to provide the outstanding education that Lab offers.

The Gala – Our premier fundraising event, this year will mark the 23rd Annual Awards Gala honoring Outstanding Achievers with Learning Disabilities. Funds raised for the Gala support the unrestricted general operating budget.

The Washington Redskins Charity Challenge! We have met the Redksins Charity Challenge established by the Washington Redskins and Qatar Airways. We are proud to say we have matched the $25,000 Challenge Grant that was established by the contribution from Qatar Airways. Thank you for all your support!!!

The Golf Classic – Each spring, alumni parents Bruce and Deborah Downey sponsor a one day golf tournament that brings together, parents, faculty and friends of Lab for a glorious day on the links.

Scholarship Funds – directly supports financial aid and bridge loans for students at The Lab School, including the Summer Program and the Night School for Adults.

Lab Legacy/Planned Giving – provides general and endowment support to Lab through individual bequests, IRAs and other estate planning vehicles

Auction – Lab will not hold an auction this year, and we ask that all fans of the auction throw their support to the Annual Fund, the Gala or our other fundraising activities!
