Nature as Inspiration
During Spring Break, students in Susannah Brown’s Digital Photography class were asked to take 75 photos each, the subject of their own choosing.
Most of the students took pictures of nature in the DC area but one student was in Utah with her mother and was able to photograph western landscapes. Because of the quarantine, there was a quiet that prevailed, a sense of nature as being more free without the usual human presence.
Students from her Paper & Beyond class also got in on the assignment – making inspired art pieces using objects found in nature -- as they have been learning about Land Art and the works of Artist Andy Goldsworthy.
