Summer Group Leader Application & Information


The Lab School Internship Program accepts applications beginning in January.

Lab School’s Classroom Interns (formerly known as the Tutor Training Program) learn and teach at the sides of our master teachers who are leaders in learning disabilities education. The guidance, supervision, instruction and mentoring you receive is unmatched. The Program runs for nine months, and during that time you are an integral part of an elementary or intermediate classroom.

We'll Train You

From August to June, we will work with you to acquire the hands-on expertise you need to pursue a career working with students with learning disabilities:
  • Implement reading and math lesson plans
  • Lead 1:1 instruction
  • Lead small group instruction
  • Attend school-wide professional development sessions
  • Receive guidance, support, and feedback from Lab School’s master teachers
Interns who successfully complete our program, meet our exacting standards, and demonstrate a capacity for excellence find a range of new and exciting career opportunities such as tutors specializing in working with students with learning disabilities, learning specialists, and teaching assistants/aides.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree or higher from an accredited university
  • Ability to make a 9-month/full academic year commitment
  • Available Monday-Friday, 7:45 am – 12:30 pm
