Summer Group Leader Position
Apply Online
We have filled all of our Group Leader positions for the 2012 Summer. We will begin accepting applications for the 2013 Summer this coming December. Thank you.

Open to Ungergraduate Students:

We are delighted that you are interested in our Summer Group Leader Program. We think that it will be an exciting and fascinating summer for you. We have extraordinarily talented teachers and bright students who learn in non-traditional ways.

The Lab School of Washington addresses the needs of children with average to superior intelligence who manifest specific learning disabilities. A significant discrepancy exists between their ability and their educational achievement as a result of these learning disabilities.

As a Group Leader, you will be the anchor, the one consistent person, for a group of twelve students. You will accompany the children to their scheduled classes where you will assist the teachers. You will receive supervision from the Coordinators of the Summer Program.

Summer school will run for five weeks beginning June 25 and ending July 27. The hours of the program are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. You will be expected to be on campus from 8:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. If you are selected for the program, you will be expected to attend two days of in-service training. These days
are:
Thursday, June 21, 2012 AND Friday, June 22, 2012 • 8:30am - 4:00pm

This is an unpaid position, but we assure you that you will receive excellent training and experience. We will write you a letter of recommendation at the conclusion of the Summer Session. For those of you who wish to gain college credit, check with your university as to whether or not they will give credit to you for this summer’s experience as an independent study. Paid positions in The Lab School’s After School program may also be available.
