Junior Year Internships
During one year of internships, Lab School juniors learned that … the customer is always right … recording studios are cool, but the phone doesn’t answer itself … cats scratch … theater sets don’t come in a box … technology still needs human beings to work effectively … and library books don’t shelve themselves …
“Successful careers are rooted not only in what you produce, but also who you choose to become.”
— Internship Coordinator Christopher Edmonds
Each year Lab School participate in a year-long internship with various companies and organizations around the greater DC.
Junior-year students are offered the opportunity to work outside the school at a pre-approved job for up to three hours a day, five days a week, for the full academic year. It’s an illuminating glimpse at career possibilities and a priceless chance to hone important workplace skills.
“I truly appreciate the fact that Lab finds opportunities for us to explore all facets of ourselves. My internship was a taste of adulthood.”
