The 24th Annual Power of Art Conference is the product of a two-decade-long partnership between The Lab School of Washington and the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation
. The Power of Art Conference has two objectives: to share a highly successful approach to teaching students with learning differences through an arts-based curriculum that is transferable to all classrooms of diverse learners; and to empower arts educators and school leaders to be persuasive voices in the national conversation about the critical relevance of the arts in the education for all children in all subjects.
For 50 years, The Lab School has been successfully using all the arts to teach academic subject matter to students with learning differences. Through the support of the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, each year we offer the opportunity for teachers and school leaders from all parts of the country to experience The Lab School methods and expertise, with the intention of encouraging these teaching practices and supporting efforts to expand the national thinking about the power of art in education.
Approximately 40 participants will be selected through a competitive application process. All costs of attending the conference, with the exception of some travel expenses, will be covered for those who are selected.
